Response to the Competitions and Market Authority Study of Children’s Social Care Provision

Year: 2021
Topic: Residential care
Author: Paul Sullivan

Here we provide information to support the UK-wide Competitions and Market Authority (CMA) study on children’s social care provision. We highlight the need for change so that efficiency and value in terms of 'a market of care' are understood as the provision of positive experiences and outcomes for children.

Our response is based on research evidence, practice experience, and feedback from our long-standing, cross-organisational networks, comprising practitioners and leaders working across the spectrum of children’s services and other public services in support of children.
