Call for participants in residential childcare research

A student at the University of Strathclyde would like to explore the views of residential childcare workers in relation to potential and actual allegations of abuse.

The research will be conducted by Stacey Cameron, who is studying for an MSc in Advanced Residential Child Care, a course developed with the University’s School of Social Work and Social Policy, alongside CELCIS.

Participants will be asked to share their experiences through a semi-structured interview which should last between 45 minutes and one hour, however timings are flexible to suit the needs of anyone taking part.

Any residential staff participating can be visited at their workplace, or a separate location if required.

It should be noted that this is a sensitive area and could potentially be troubling for some people to talk about. With that in mind, all information given by participants will be anonymous and confidential, and the option to withdraw from the research at any time is available.
