Care leavers invited to share their views on the role of foster carers

What does it take to be a foster carer?

That’s the question a team of researchers from CELCIS are asking as part of a study into the professional role of foster carers.

The team is interested in hearing all kinds of perspectives and learning about different experiences. The full study will see foster carers, academics, and care leavers invited to share their views, with the aim of better understanding the complexity of foster carers’ work.

To gather the experience of care leavers, CELCIS will organise several focus group meetings with young adults.

The meetings will take about 60 - 90 minutes and may be audio recorded if you agree. Taking part is completely voluntary.

Participants will be encouraged to freely express their opinions, and to listen to the views of others in a safe and respectful space.
