Following the success of our first CELCIS Education Conference in 2017, plans are now well underway for this year's event.
The conference will look at the roles of Corporate Parents in the education of looked after children and young people.
Corporate Parents have a responsibility to improve these children and young people's outcomes by getting to know each child and understanding their circumstances. As all children and young people have different needs and it's important that their voices are heard.
Through keynote speakers and an interactive, practical workshop programme, the CELCIS Education Team will explore how Corporate Parents can support children and young people to achieve their hopes and dreams for the future.
Delegates will have the opportunity to participate in workshops, running twice during the day. Themes explored during these sessions will include:
School staff with responsibility for looked after children, such as Designated Managers, and all CELCIS Education Forum members.
The Education Forum brings together a broad network of practitioners interested in the education of looked after children.
The Forum is free to join and provides an opportunity for everyone to learn from each other about current research, policy and practice developments or issues of special interest.
