Disclosure of criminal records is an important issue of relevance for all children, young people and professionals involved in Scotland's youth and criminal justice system. It's also a key issue for those working with looked after children and care leavers, however, the current system is poorly understood by employers, professionals and young people themselves.
At this event, invited speakers will provide an overview of the current system to raise awareness, understanding, and highlight areas of challenge. There will also be opportunities to delve into potential options for systems change, as well as hear information on the forthcoming PVG review.
Participants will have space to discuss and reflect on the information shared, as well as to identify other opportunities to support professionals working in these fields, in respect of disclosure.
