This two-day conference provides an opportunity for practitioners to hear from others about a more engaged way of working with families, drawing on strengths-based and solution-focused approaches. The programme will explore how we can rise above procedural and statutory demands to ensure we do our best with families, returning to core social work values.
We're looking for presentations from practitioners drawing on strengths-based and solution-focused approaches. Presentations will last for a maximum of 20 minutes and you'll also participate in a facilitated discussion group of up to 20 participants, to allow for questions and discussion arising from your presentation.
If you're interested in presenting, complete our Speaker Information Form below by 3 July 2017.
The event will be of interest to social work practitioners, managers and policy makers and the programme will include input from practitioners and opportunities for group discussion and networking with colleagues.
The conference is organised by Social Work WITH Families, an initiative formed by a small group of Scottish social work practitioners whose vision is to strengthen pride and confidence in practice. The 2016 event report is available below. It is supported by CELCIS, SASW, SWS and SSSC.
