Animal magic: enhancing compassionate and nurturing care
Join us as we share some of the messages from looked after children that animals in their lives is important to them. We'll link these messages to the health and social care standards, in particular, the principle of compassion. We'll also explore some of the research and evidence that, for many looked after children, contact with animals provides something special and magical, in addition to human interaction.

This will be an interactive session, and will include footage of young people with pets and animals. They'll describe the difference these animals make and we'll be joined by our Young Inspector Volunteers who will broaden the discussion.
