This Foundations report from Healthcare Improvement Scotland and Care Inspectorate highlights examples of current practice and models, particular areas of excellence and new research evidence and literature relating to the formation of a Scottish Barnahus (Bairns’ Hoose).

It explores the key changes that have taken place across the four ‘rooms’ of the European Barnahus model: child protection, health, justice and recovery, and will inform the work of the Standards Development Group as they shape and develop the Bairns’ Hoose standards, ensuring the standards are embedded in evidence, policy, and practice and reflect capacity, resource and implementation considerations.
