Response to Scottish Government’s consultation on improving Temporary Accommodation Standards

Year: 2019
Topic: Corporate parenting, Throughcare and aftercare
Author: Scottish Care Leavers Covenant

The Scottish Care Leavers Covenant supports recommendations to extend the Homeless Persons (Unsuitable Accommodation) (Scotland) Order 2014. The response highlights the rights and needs of care leavers to greater protection from experiencing unsuitable accommodation, and argues for prioritisation of care leavers' needs when improving temporary accommodation standards in Scotland.

The Covenant consists of stakeholders from Barnardo’s Scotland, the Centre for Excellence for Children’s Care and Protection (CELCIS), the Centre for Youth and Criminal Justice (CYCJ), IRISS, the Life Changes Trust, Quarriers, Staf (the Scottish Throughcare and Aftercare Forum), and Who Cares? Scotland.
