The Centre for Youth and Criminal Justice (CYCJ) has published a new report by Dr Claire Lightowler calling for a reform of the Scottish youth justice system to be truly rights respecting.

Despite some significant improvements in respecting the rights of children in conflict with the law in Scotland, it is still common for these children not to have their rights respected.

The report argues that to uphold the rights of children in conflict with the law in Scotland there is a need to make improvements in eleven areas, including defining a child as under 18 years old.
