Reach magazine special on permanence

CELCIS’ flagship magazine, Reach, has just published its permanence focused edition. The magazine is packed full of stories and case studies about what’s happening to provide looked after children a secure, safe and long-term home for as long as they need it. It includes content from CELCIS’ Permanence November month.

Reach is received by thousands of recipients with an interest in looked after children from throughout Scotland and beyond.

Drift and delay in making decisions can have a huge impact on young lives, and we're highlighting the fantastic Permanence and Care Excellence (PACE) projects going on across Scotland that really do make a difference.

Highlights from Reach include:

  • a video of Lynne Shuttleton at Aberdeen Council talking about how reduced paperwork cut delays in permanence and halved the size of reports;
  • a podcast of kinship carer, Peter, who explores the challenges of looking after his granddaughter;
  • a blog by Fiona Aitken, Director Scotland at Adoption UK, dispelling the myths about adoption;
  • and a video case study of Cathie O’Donnell of Renfrewshire Council describing how sometimes the best place is for a child to return home’.

What is also new about this edition of Reach is that it's now all online, and includes podcasts, blogs and video.

We are keen to solicit feedback on our first digital Reach. Let us know what you think by emailing: celcis.comms@strath.ac.uk.
