This report presents the findings of a pioneering project led by CELCIS, in partnership with Scotland’s National Joint Investigative Interviewing Project Team, to develop a more effective and rights-based approach to identifying and recording disability in children.

Working with seven local partnerships across Scotland, CELCIS co-designed and tested a new set of disability indicators aligned with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) and the UK Equality Act 2010, alongside guidance to support consistent and meaningful data collection.
