Across Scotland, people are working together to shape their practices to enable effective collaborative working in public services.
The Scottish Government's Routemap and National Principles of Holistic Whole Family Support, developed with and for children and families in Scotland, set out four key drivers for change:
- Children and Families at the centre
- Availability and Access
- Whole System Approach / Joined Up Support
- Workforce and Culture
To improve support and outcomes for children, young people and their families, a range of activities - from undertaking small tests of change to rolling out new approaches, to programmes to reconfigure and target support in different ways – have shown that it not just what you do that makes the difference but how. All these activities have several elements in common and one of these is a focus on collaborative practice, how this has developed and the role it plays in fostering shared ownership, mutual learning and alignment across services.
This learning session will provide an opportunity to hear about how Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) has been using a Leadership for Systems Change approach, and how partner agencies have been working together in East Lothian to improve support for children and families
Join CELCIS as we look together at the collaborative planning and decision-making practices and the leadership experiences in Glasgow and East Lothian, to share new insights into what practical steps, techniques and tools have helped in the process of establishing effective collaborative working.
The insights shared and discussion will focus on three central questions:
- What is meant by collaborative working?
- What is collaborative leadership? How is this recognised, and how can its development be supported?
- What have the experiences in Glasgow City and East Lothian told us about the reality of what collaborative practices looks like, and what it takes to get us there?
This free webinar is open to anyone involved in improving how public services support children, young people and families, including those contributing to children’s social care reform and to Scotland’s collective commitment to keeping The Promise.
