WFWF Webinar 2 - Feb 2026 Webpage MM.png

Across Scotland, people are working together to improve support and outcomes for children, young people and their families.

The Scottish Government's Routemap and National Principles of Holistic Whole Family Support, developed with and for children and families in Scotland, set out four key drivers for change:

  • Children and Families at the centre
  • Availability and Access
  • Whole System Approach / Joined Up Support
  • Workforce and Culture

Understanding both the needs of children, young people and their families and how services and processes are working is central to achieving these improvements.

Join CELCIS as we bring colleagues working in collaborative partnerships in East Lothian and Glasgow together to:

  • hear about what data they have been using to understand the systems they are working with, how they accessed this information, and how they have used it to learn and inform practice;
  • learn how local areas have collaborated with communities and partners to create a learning system to support action;
  • explore examples of how data has been used to identify the need and skills necessary for community research and participation work to support children and families in East Lothian; and
  • find out about the insights from data that have shaped how Glasgow is responding to the needs of children and families.

The insights shared and discussion will focus on these central questions:

  1. What different types of data are needed in a complex change environment?
  2. What is a learning system? And what does an effective learning system look like?
  3. What challenges have been encountered in establishing effective learning systems and what approaches have been used to overcome these challenges?

This free webinar is open to anyone involved in improving how public services support children, young people and families, including those contributing to children’s social care reform and to Scotland’s collective commitment to keeping The Promise.
