Children's Hearing System - Taking Stock of Recent Reforms

This Report sets out the findings of the Education & Skills Committee's short inquiry to take stock ofthe reforms brought about by the 2011 Act and how they were being implemented in relation to the Children's Hearing System in Scotland.

The report makes a series of recommendations in relation to the following areas:

  • Role of Panel members and the chair
  • Improvements to the Hearings system
  • Advocacy and Safeguarders
  • Role of Solicitors
  • Feedback Loop
  • Interaction between the Hearings system and the Courts.
