CELCIS letter to MSPs at Stage 3 of the Children (Care, Care Experience and Services Planning) (Scotland) Bill
Topic: Legislation
Author: CELCIS
CELCIS has written to all Members of the Scottish Parliament to share our concerns regarding the implementation of the Children (Care, Care Experience and Services Planning) (Scotland) Bill.
The letter acknowledges the positive intentions behind the amendments that have been discussed and agreed at Stage 2 and proposed at stage 3, but raises concerns about implementation and a need to understand what will be required to ensure that the Bill can be put into practice in a way that is effective, consistent, and supports the needs and realises rights of children and young people.
The letter identifies areas for attention including workforce planning, accurate and realistic financial modelling, improved data collection and analysis, and the development of clear guidance and training for the workforce.
