The National Action Plan to Prevent and Tackle Child Sexual Exploitation
This plan sets out the ambition for Scotland to be a place where sexual exploitation of children and young people is eliminated – a Scotland where children and young people are protected from harm, in a society that is hostile place for perpetrators and facilitators of child sexual exploitation. It was initially published by the Scottish Government in 2014 and updated in March 2016.
Child Sexual Exploitation - National Awareness Campaign
The first TV campaign in the UK focused on child sexual exploitation launched on January 28th, 2016. It comes as new research shows 93 per cent of parents have heard of child sexual exploitation, but almost a third (29 per cent) know little about it and over a third (36 per cent) believe it won’t affect their family. A new TV advert and website show how conversations online can potentially lead to a young person placing themselves in danger and highlight how to spot the warning signs.
