Introduction to Framing and Framing Care Experience

This month we're delighted to welcome the Each and Every Child initiative to the Forum. The initiative aims to support people at all levels in the community to shift how they communicate when speaking about care experience, and to change how they think, feel and act. By doing this, the initiative will create the scale that is needed to influence public opinion, build support for the progressive vision of The Promise and make a positive difference to the lives of all of Scotland's children and young people.

This month's Forum will provide an introduction to framing and how it can improve the lives of people with lived experience of care, now and in the future. It will outline the support available from Each and Every Child to support you to embed framing across your organisation. There will also be an opportunity to discuss how we can put the research findings into practice across education in Scotland. Together we can change the public perception of care experience by telling a new story, creating a new and compelling narrative.

We are at a pivotal moment in Scotland. With the Independent Care Review, The Promise and the Plan, Scotland has stepped up to re-imagine care experience for children and young people. This is ground-breaking work. This is policy and practice that can and will change lives. We all have a part to play in making this change happen, because how we talk about care experience matters.

Is it for me?

Our audience is open to all who work with children and young people with care experience in an education setting.

About the Education Forum

At CELCIS, we are priviledged to convene and coordinate a free, open-access network of practitioners and leaders who are involved or interested in the education of children with experience of care, and their families. We encourage and facilitate opportunities for practitioners to come together in a reflective, challenging and enabling space.

Membership is free and open to anyone with an interest in this area of education. We have members who are students, foster carers, health visitors, teachers and academics - so many different roles are represented.

To find out more and register, visit the Education Forum webpage.
