Understanding Scotland’s progress on children’s social care
The Promise Scotland has (19 December) published updates to ‘Plan 24-30 route maps’ which outline how Scotland intends to keep The Promise of the Independent Care Review by 2030.
The 25 route maps form Scotland’s shared framework and contain milestones, commitments and outcomes, outlining timescales and seeking to clarify who needs to do what, and by when, to make real change for children and young people, their families and adults with care experience.
The ‘Promise Story of Progress’, tracking the progress of the transformational change needed, has also been published.
Working together with the Scottish Government and the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA), the resource is designed to build an understanding of how Scotland is delivering on its commitment, bringing together official data sources, information shared by partner organisations, and information on how people with care experience are feeling the impact of any changes and progress towards 2030.
With the aim of supporting learning, and a way for individuals or organisations to check whether their current practice is making a difference to people with care experience, the progress framework looks at what is working well and where change or more evidence is still needed.
