The SIRCC annual conference is the only dedicated residential child care conference in the UK. Attracting over 350 delegates, it represents the residential child care sector and associated professions.
Pushing the boundaries and re-writing routines. Sound familiar? This is what we do every day, in the relationships we build with the children and young people in our care. Our desire to provide them with the best opportunities, to be the best they can be, and to fulfil their dreams is in our DNA.
Our conference will explore how we work together to provide a sense of family, care and support, while nurturing, comforting and providing a home - all within the boundaries of the residential child care system.
We're delighted to confirm our keynote speakers for the conference:
Lemn Sissay MBE and Dr Junlei Li.
Lemn Sissay MBE
Lemn is the author of several books of poetry alongside articles, records, public art and plays. He was an official poet for the London Olympics and his Landmark Poems are installed throughout Manchester and London. We're delighted to open the conference with such an inspirational speaker.
Dr Junlei Li
Dr Junlei Li is Co-Director of the Fred Rogers Center and Rita M. McGinley Professor of Early Learning and Children's Media at Saint Vincent College, Pittsburgh. We're excited to hear about Junlei's work on enhancing the quality of human relationships surrounding children.
Do you know someone working in residential child care who deserves recognition? Do they go above and beyond for the children and young people they work with? We want to hear more!
